Our Services

The Office for Access and Equity provides a variety of resources and services for University of Illinois faculty and staff, as well as services geared toward job applicants, current or prospective students, and visitors. Please scroll down or select from the menu to the left to learn more. 

Overview of Services

OAE services fall into five general categories:

    • Accessibility for persons with disabilities and workplace accommodations
    • Assistance with issues of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, or retaliation
    • Support for equitable and inclusive hiring processes
    • Reports and other data regarding campus employment diversity
    • Training opportunities and resources related to any of the above categories

The Accessibility & Accommodations Division facilitates reasonable accommodations for employees and visitors to campus. There are several types of reasonable accommodation provisioned under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), such as for disabilities, medical conditions, pregnancy, and religious accommodations.

Employees and Visitors

Employees and campus visitors may request an accommodation using the Employee Accommodation Request Form, or by contacting the OAE at (217) 333-0885 or oae@illinois.edu. Campus visitors should contact OAE by phone or via email.

Students

Students who need a classroom accommodation should contact Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) at (217) 333-460 or by email at disability@illinois.edu.

The University of Illinois is committed to preventing and responding to all forms of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and retaliation. The Equal Employment Opportunity Division receives reports of end investigates complaints of employee misconduct under the university’s nondiscrimination and sexual misconduct policies as well as state and federal laws. The division also provides supportive measure for those who have submitted reports so that they can maintain equitable access to educational and employment opportunities.

The Affirmative Action Analytics and Planning Division provides hiring officials, diversity advocates, EEO Officers/Vice Chairs, HR professionals, and search committee chairs/members assistance with the hiring process by providing guidance on recruitment, diversity of the applicant/finalist pool, required documentation, and best practices around inclusive interviewing. The division also helps prospective employees who wish to apply for a job or who are using the applicant tracking system.

University employees may request reports and other diversity and equity data regarding employment at the university. The Affirmative Action Analytics and Planning Division will review the request for data and generate an appropriate report for the request. Use the Data Request Form to submit a request.
